What are the chances of getting a job at ymca?

Do good looking people have higher chances of getting a job than people who are not as good looking?

  • I am not very good looking and I have close to no chances to getting any job. One time I kept on applying for a position at through the internet and also handing in my resume and cover letter in person every time I make changes to my resume and cover letter. And the people, even the manager keeps saying that they will call me back. They have been showing advertisements for the job position for a month and I have been applying it since they first started the advertisement. During the month I may have applied about 100 times from the internet and handed in, in person to the stuff members and the manager about 20 times or so. Yet my friend who is way underqualified then I am (same age, same school and same classes studied) just applied once and got called in for an interview in about 2 days and got the job just because of his looks and he doesn’t even knows the guy. It was like all the hard work and all that effect wasted because I am not as good looking as my friend, and the manager told him that he is qualified for the job even tho my resume and cover latter is better than his, I know because everyone even he said so. It was like all the time I apply through the internet they all just deleted the mail and all the time I handed in my resume and cover latter, it seemed that it all just gotten thrown in the rubbish bin. My friend is not only way underqualified than I am but he also has a bad work ethics, like he is always late or just doesn’t go to work because he doesn’t feel like it. 3 weeks after my friend got the job he called me to come cheer him up because his work wasn’t very busy and that he was bored, he was on break from his work and he kept on showing off how much better he is than me. So I told him that he only got the job because of his good looks, and that if it wasn’t for that then he wouldn’t have got the job in a matter of fact he wouldn’t have gotten anywhere if it wasn’t for that. Then after a while we got into a fist fight (he started it by pushing me) since then we haven’t talked at all.

  • Answer:

Yup, I agree that looks matters in career but personality also matters a lot. If you have good knowledge in your subject and you give your interview confidently then nobody can reject you. Its whole depends on you. I mean, if you are not good looking but you are confident with good body language then you can get any job....Anyways Best of Luck for your future.......

If you applied 120 times, it is no wonder you did not get called. You harassed this company. I would not call you either. Grow up and submit one professional application to any future jobs you'd like. Follow up with a visit or a phone call. You may continue to do so (politely) once a week or so, until they interview you or tell you the position has been filled.

It makes people happy when they get to work with hot people. It gives them a reason to go to work when it's one of those days when they are on the fence about coming in.

I admit looks get you further in your career but personality can do it too. Was your resume and cover letter up to standard?? Depending on what kind of job you're applying for maybe your personality or presence let you down. I've seen it happen so many times in my job, its ridiculous.
