Do you think video games should be considered an art form?

  • contemporary/modern art is basically every art piece created after WW2 I personally, love video games and thoroughly believe they should gain momentum and recognition on the global art scale. Video games allows the makers and viewers to experience creative worlds, 3-D textures and beautiful scenery often of which unimaginable. What do you think of contemporary art? The youth involvement in this movement and whether you believe video games should be recognized as an art form thanks so much for your time!

    yeah they can definitely be considered art!!!!! some of them might be **** but things like MGS are definitely art i reckon. also check these links: http://www.increpare.com/ http://babycastles.com/ (this ones site seems weird atm tho) heres a couple of places where you can find videogames made specifically as 'art pieces'. also check out: http://killscreendaily.com/ they often have reviews or articles about a bit more out there video games.

of course it is....!...it involves lot of imagination and work....not only for the creator of the game but for also the players....i too love playing video games...we not only immerse in the game but also think different strategies to finish it....it is definitely an ART.... creating the new worlds,stories,,its like all the other arts ....story writing,imagination,drawing, and many more things put together....! can call it as an VIRTUAL ART...:)

as of now i just dont see it. just because it contains visual and aural elements it dosnt make it artful. if a brochure or magazine can have pretty pictures in it but you still wouldnt consider it art, right?
