Aprx 1980 Kawasaki 2stroke KT12AD String Trimmer Motor/Weed Wacker..can I use Semi-Synthetic Echo 2 stroke oil?

I was told that This motor same as in this video > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcrkLJsAy1A Is recommended @ 25:1 Fuel/Oil Ratio. But that they didn't know whether the modern for example Echo Semi-Synthetic Chainsaw 2 stroke oil would be ok in it ........as in the 80's semi-synthetic was not made then. What was recommended to me was Castrol Super 2 Stroke Oil. What are your opinions & reasons on which I should use. I just don't want to damage it. Most of my stuff is Echo and i use the echo brand oil which is semi synthetic with fuel stabalizer in it.

As long as you get oil rated for an air cooled 2 stroke engine then you can use any semi-synthetic or full synthetic in it. For the small difference in price I'd just go with a full synthetic 2 stroke oil and try to find some ethanol-free gas for it if you can.
