Will it mess with the ipods software or end up charging even if it says free?

Answer:
No, the app I have, magic jack, is a great calling app, everything about it is free and I've had it for a year already and my iPod is still fine. Nothing has been charged. It works good

If it is a ipod to mobile/home phone number most likely it is a scam. No one can provide ipod to phone number calling for free because it require phone company's network However ipod to ipod calling service is pretty free. Just use the big name one like skype or tango

I use a calling/texting app for my 4g Apple iPod Touch, it didn't ruin anything and I use it daily! It's free too!!! It's called: Textfree with voice And there's a new version with voicemail!!! I'm not sure what it's called though...
