Can trap counter activate to affect jinzo?

  • i was dueling with my friend the other day and when i summoned jinzo, he activate force back -counter trap. Is that allowed ? If anyone knows, please help

    Yes. Your friend can can activate forced back. You are summoning jinzo, means jinzo is not perfectly on the field, he is just on the way to field. To negate the traps jinzo has to be on the field, while jinzo is summoning, forced back is negating the summoning of jinzo. Jinzo summoning is perfectly countered and negated. Jinzo can be countred by solemn warning, solemn judgement and also with forced back. Well forced back cant negate the special summons.

Jinzo has to be on the field for its effect to stop traps. Forced back negates the summon so its never on the field in the first place, perfectly legal

of all the current answers only pikapika's one is correct.. Jinzo is not considered successfully summoned yet, so ur oponent has the right to respond with a counter trap and negate him summon(altho if ur friend is using force back then he won't be so hard to beat don't worry) now if jinzo is already on the field that's a different story. Unlike the dude mentioned, he has a continuous effect, so it's got nothing to do with speed. If he's on the field then no player is allowed to activate any traps(including counter traps) in the first place in any case, ur friend is right in this 1, he can indeed negate jinzo's summon with a counter trap cheers

yes because a counter trap is spell speed type 3 Jinzo is 2 so the card wins. even if Jinzo was already on the field.

No that is not possible since jinzo already negates all traps on the field. So your friend broke one of the rules
