Why is my account blocked?

Hotmail account blocked? Why? !?

Basically I just tried to log in to my windows Hotmail account and I was told it had been blocked. I thought maybe I had entered my password and pressed continue to follow the steps. The idea is then that they email you a code which acts to verify your identity. However windows only gave me the option of emailing cr****@hotmail.com. An email that I have not heard of and certainly does not belong to me ! Has my account been hacked ? What can I do about this. I feel I should close the account but even this isn't possible when I cannot log in. HELP !
Answer:

Someone might have accidentally tried to enter your account thinking it was theirs; or some of your visits might have put Live on alert. I recomend that you email this person to determine whether you had accidentally put him on your list of contacts to call in emergency before you start to panic. Remember, as long as your account is on hold, a hacker cannot use it either.
