Why is my paintball gun leaking co2?

My paintball gun is leaking Co2?

  • I tried to use my paintball gun this morning and I have only used it once before. And when I attached the Co2 a few minutes later out of no where the back of the gun was leaking Co2. And when I tried later when I shot it the ball only went about 2 feet away from me. Any ideas on how I can fix this

  • Answer:

If it is from the back top part of the gun then most likely it is an o-ring that you must replace on the delrin bolt(refer to your owners manual, it will be very detailed on the inner working of the gun and it will give you troubleshooting tips) these O-rings (Spyder puts extras in with their gun) serve as a type of gasket to form an airtight leak proof seal but sometimes they wear or tear and so you need to replace them. Also something else you may want to try is just putting marker oil on that area where it is leaking so that the o-ring can get moist, o-rings if dry will also usually lead to leaks so you may want to try this but keep in mind this will not solve a torn o-ring. Finally another thing is if it is leaking from where the tank connects to the gun then most likely you have a torn o-ring on your tank or no o-ring, these are completely necessary for the operation of your gun or there will be no airtight seal and all the air will just constantly leak, *****Make sure to change your tanks o-ring as a usual thing about every 2 or 3 times that you remove your tank because Co2 freezes these o rings and then they have a tendency to tear easily because of that so leaks are then inevitable, keep in mind these o-rings must be purchased seperately and they arent the ones that come with your gun.

Ok so first off get air. Just saying, it's what you need. CO2 is inconsistant and can take tech shits in your gun. But to address your problem: Check the fittings of your marker, that might be the main issue. The steel hose might be short and you may want a new one, or your fittings that go for that may have kinks. After that, check your ASA(area where you screw in your tank) Check if it attaches properly and that isnt where it leaks. If thats not the problem, take the bolt out and check you put it in properly. After that take an allen key and take out the striker, and check out your o-rings. If any are busted, then that's probably your problem. Busted o-rings are easily replaceable, just refer to your manual to get the right size. Then put back together your marker and, if it still leaks, take it into the shop. Also, have you checked your velocity recently over a chronograph? If you havent, do so. If it's shooting low (anything under 250 feet per second), then change the velocity by turning the back cap on the back of the gun to change it. Keep changing it and firing it to get it around 270-290. Thats the prime spot/legal speed to have your gun shooting. Buying compressed air tanks make it shoot more consistant though. Now for the troll below: Airsoft is as just a different sport to paintball as Soccer is to football. DIfferent sports, different motives, different rules, and different ways of the game. Airsoft focuses on realism, and if you're into that milsim/scenario, then go right on towards Airsoft. But paintball focuses on a wide variety of things. First off it's a sport, and has professional tournaments that focus on winning the game. But on the flip side there's woodsball/scenario ball, which focuses on milsim. Paintball guns can look JUST as realistic as real guns, you just have to look in the right places. Overall: Milsim hobby-airsoft Sport-Paintball.

try to clean all inside of the gun and get new c02... either that or get into airsoft... more realistic, real models, and marks!
