What are the best skullcandy headphones for sound quality?

I'm looking for headphones with good sound quality that won't die on me. Any suggestions?

  • I've had my Sony PIIQ headphones for about a year now. They were bought with my every expectation that they wouldn't need to be replaced for at least a few years, and I've treated them with nothing but love. I was extremely happy with these until they started to cut out, which frustrates me to no end. So, this is where you come in. I'll make this as straightforward as possible. I'm looking for a pair of headphones, not earbuds, preferably the kind that fits around the ear rather than resting on it. They must be durable (i.e. lasting a good 3-4 years at least) and have good sound quality, not professional, but above average. My budget for this is going to be $200 Canadian at the maximum. I wear headphones quite frequently, taking them on and off several times most days. I don't stuff them into backpacks or the like, but I do switch them between my iPod and the jack in my computer fairly often. And for the love of the flying spaghetti monster, don't say Skullcandy. Every experience I've had with their products has, invariably, been awful.

Thoughts are: if you have genuinely looked after them, then there is/was either a design fault OR manufacturing fault. They should have lasted a good few years, you cant imagine studios or most users replacing phones every few months... can you. And if you mistreated them (as many do) they would not last days let alone weeks. Personally, I would be returning them - with or without Warranty protection as defect product. If the shop will not do it, then go direct to the manufacturer (expressing your disappointment after having previous had such a high opinion of their products, and that you now doubt the companys credibility despite the pretty advertising, can they please confirm that this was a one off fault and repair them please, etc)

Get Beats by Dr Dre. All the celebrities have them, and they only cost 120 pounds on Amazon. I got them for my birthday and they were one of the greatest gifts that I have ever received. The sound quality is excellent, and the bass is superb and makes it sound like you're at a concert. They also block out outside noise, meaning that you don't have to turn up the volume super high when you're listening to them in the car on the train.

Sorry, but every pair of headphones, NO MATTER WHAT, is going to have the same unfortunate fate... They stop working in one ear, or they stop working entirely unless you move the cord in a certain position. In my years of.headphone using experience, no matter how much money I've spent, this always ends up happeNing. So, I would recommend not spending a ton of Money on headphones, as they are extremely likely to stop working in one ear. I'd say a cheap 10 to 30 dollar pair of nose isolating headphones will be sufficient. I also use.headphones daily and switch them between my computer and ipod.
