How To Convince My Mum To Let Me Get A Belly Button Piercing?

• I'm turning 13 in August and I really want my belly button pierced, but my mum says not until I'm 16. I think that's really weird considering I'm allowed to get my helix pierced when I turn 14. My 3 of my friends have belly button piercings and I think their beautiful. Another of my friends is getting her's done in July and I really want to go get it done with her. How do I convince my mum to let me do it? She says that they get caught on your clothes alot and their annoying and can get infected but that happens with any piercing and she still lets me get those ( I have my seconds and next year I'm getting my helix piercing.) I'm determined to get this piercing done, what do I do?

  Helix and navel piercings are totally different. You won't be able to sleep on your belly for at least six months, for starters. You can't wear tightly fitting clothes, or anything that may get caught on the piercing, because it's agony when they get pulled. It's honestly much worse than the initial piercing, to pull a sore one. If you think they're beautiful, explain that to your mother. Ask for it as a birthday present, show her how mature you are (and DON'T use the line "because my friends have it" - that's childish and will get a "No") and maybe promise to get good grades or do the dishes/washing for a month.
