Order of watching/reading Star Wars!?

Hello guys. I did not have many chances in the past to experience the Star Wars Universe. Now, I have a little more time to spare, and I want to learn everything about Star Wars. Besides the main movies, can you guys suggest some Star Wars novels, comics, etc. and the order of reading them? As said before, I want to learn as much as possible about Star Wars! Thank you.

Timothy Zahn wrote three books that will start you off well, outside of the movies. These begin just a little bit after the Return of the Jedi and are very good reads. The books are also the very first ones that George Lucas authorized. There is also the Splinter of the minds eye written just after A New Hope in case the movie flopped. The are some inconsistent areas of the story and in my opinion its not well written.

The movies were turned into novelizations that give more depth to the story. Plus the Expanded Universe are the many books in between, before, and after the movies. If you ever get stuck on something, wookiepedia.org is a large database to everything in Star Wars. Reading lots of science books helps too! By the way, I'd watch the original trilogy first and then the prequels.
