What's the safest way to clean a laptop screen?

Whats wrong with my new laptop screen?

  • About two months ago I broke my laptop screen, then I ordered a new screen this week and it arrived today. I replaced the laptop screen with the new one on my own, I didn't want to pay for somebody else to do it....but now after I have connected the screen and everything, when I turn on my laptop it only displays a white screen and beeps repetitively. What do I do? whats wrong with it? (By the way its a Dell Inspiron N4010)

  • Answer:

You somehow managed to screw up the repair. The beeps you're hearing are your PC failing the Power On Self Test (POST). Your manual will tell you what the POST codes mean. It's possible that the screen you installed was either broken or incompatible w/your laptop. You're going to have to take it out again & re-install it, checking the cables (there should be 2-power & data) to make sure they're oriented properly & fully-seated.

The beeping will be the post check I think you need to look up the post code to find out why its beeping but we can have a good idea why. Make sure the screen is connected right and securely make sure there are no brakes in the cable. I hope someone with more experience can help you good luck
