Is it still possible to drive in san Francisco and the Bay Area?

What are the places that is nice to drive around in San Francisco Bay area?

  • I am staying 10 days in San Jose, and would like to drive around the area and see some landscapes, lakes, or nice town like sao sausalito. Parks. bike path.

    If you are in San Jose, West over Hwy 17 to Santa Cruz and the Northern Monterey Bay. Felton has Henry Cowell Redwoods that are big enough to walk around inside. Santa Cruz has the Beach and Boardwalk, world class surfing, and Monarch butterflies. North on Hwy 280 is Filoli a great place to wander around and take pictures. Further North is all sights of San Francisco then over to Sausalito and Muir Woods. East you can go up to the Lick Observatory for views. Beyond that the hills may have wildflowers this time of year. South down Hwy 101 is Laguna Seca Raceway, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Pebble Beach 17 mile drive, and Point Lobos all within a short drive.

I'm guessing you want to get out of the city? Your hotel should have some maps and such but a great trip is to head up the Sonoma coast. Theres a little town up there call Bodega Bay - comes fully equipped with taffy shops and more seafood restaurants than you can count. Beautiful drive too.
