Cant detect/connect any wireless network?
-
hello... I have a samsung r580 laptop and I had no problems with wireless so far... but after i formatted my laptop (I had win7 home premium) and installed win7 ultimate I can not even see any of the wireless networks... I tried to install the exact 64bit wireless network adapter (atheros at9285) driver latest update... still cant see any wireless network... (my computer had no wireless network switch on the keyboard or etc...) I am in desperate and URGENT need of help... please... ps: when i run diagnostics it resets the modem and then after that I click "skip this step-continue to fix the problem" option says "windows cannot resolve your wireless connectivity issue" then i click next and get the error "problem with wireless adapter or access point" I have checked the connectivity of the network with another pc and it is working fine (it used to work fine before also) (altho there are 4+ networks in the range I can not even see one)

Answer:
you may not have the right drivers installed. according to this page: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/NP-R580-JSB1US there are a few different possibilities. you should check the Device List for the status of your wireless adapter: click Start, right-click Computer, and click Properties. then click Device Manager on the left, and find your WiFi network adapter. if it has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark next to it, then it has a problem. worst case scenario: you need a new wireless card, but i'd try each one of the drivers at that link first. there's no (easy) way of knowing what brand your wifi adapter is without going thru and installing the drivers for them each one at a time and trying it (AFTER you uninstall the previous drivers!). good luck, and let me know if you need any help!

First, did you get the driver from Samsung or use a generic? http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/NP-R580-JSB1US has the drivers. Second in the network adapters settings is the card enabled? If not enable it. One of those two is the problem.
