How to use my VGA to TV cable?

Can I use a DVI to VGA cable from my desktop to TV?

  • I recently got a TV for my birthday and when I hooked it up with my desktop for use as a second monitor through hdmi to a dvi adapter to my graphics card, it gave a blurry picture. The TV also has a VGA port so I was going to try connecting via a DVI to VGA cable to get a better picture. Will this work? I think it might be the HDMI mode on the TV that's the problem. It's a JVC lt22de72 Tried HDMI to DVI cable. Didn't work.

  • Answer:

You can not go from analog (VGA) to digital (DVI) with only adapter. You will need something like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0016SN49Y?ie=UTF8&tag=flapantvinf-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0016SN49Y What is the reason you are going from HDMI (video card) to DVI (TV)? Don't you have an available HDMI port on your TV?
