Horrible Sore Throat, Help?

Sore throat for 6 months? Please read below. In need of HELP!!?

• Strep throat/ sore throat. Please read below. In need of HELP!!? In November 2011, i had strep throat. i took antibiotics for it and then 2 weeks after that ive had an ongoing sore throat for 5 months till now. Ive took every over the counter drug to get rid of it. Ive gargled with warm water and salt for a month straight and still nothing. Its only sore and red on one side of my throat..the other side is perfectly fine. When i open my mouth to see whats going on, the side that is very sore and red, on that tonsil there is a slit like a little pocket and it has tonsil stones in it. Why is that so? I take them out but every time i do, days after there's more and more. Its only on one side and that side is very sore and sometimes hard to swallow. My throat glands also hurt and on and off headaches. Ive tried everything and I'm tired of it all. I have gone to the doctor and they said my throat looks fine but clearly it doesn't. They swab it and now I'm waiting for the results. She is also sending me to an ENT specialist. I still want to hear everyone's opinion if they have had this problem before and if so, what did you do about it?

  Did he test you for mono? While you wait for a diagnosis, get yourself as healthy as you can, by eating all the right foods and good exercise. Eat more vegetables than meat, no junk food.
