How do BOOKIES make money during football matches?

Anyone know any tips on how to not gamble?

  • first of all im not that briliant at excellin in earthly matters (earning a good living)so i relied on a bit of outside help history i used to win alot of money at gambling. i had a 90% success rate. i was betting on ternnis matches and football matches, and snooner matches, darts matches, nfl matches etc in my first year i got £50K off a local bookies office (through a series of bets) caledl stanley racing i eventually goit all the way up to £150K at the height of 6 years work my best bet was on the NEpats to win the superbowl (at the start of the season put £2400 on them in differn t bet shops) and eventually won £29,400 however during that season it looked unlikely that they would win as they were up and down and i got really nervous and made a covennet with GOD that i would not make any more bets if he would allow me to collect this final one. I developed a bit of a fascination with antique comic and bought alot of them the trouble was i got greedy and wanted to pay for them with winnings and keep the funds i had already gained, this led to a great downful & through temptation i broke my covenant whihc was a great mistake and kept breaking it and eventually lost all it all. (biggest lost at any one time was £7500 on a tennis match) i was obvisouly never belssed again after mistaknely making the pact (and hopefully this will be my onyl pusnishment in times to come) and now to top it all off there is a mega recession, and findign it hard to cut ties with gambling any advices? or tips

    If you must to gamble, best tip is to when you are winning go away, and when you are losing go away too. Key is not to deep envolve or you will be losing all your money. Don't ever try to win back your money!

Anyone suggesting ANY form of gambling to you is an idiot. You got caught up in gambling, and you won so much money that you fooled yourself into believing that you actually knew what you were doing. NOBODY gets 90%. Nobody. If you WERE hitting at 90%, it wasn't because you knew what you were doing, and it wasn't because of divine intervention. You were CRAZY LUCKY! That's it. It was inevitable that you'd eventually gamble enough to lose it all. That sort of easy money is too difficult for almost everyone to resist. In the end, you get exactly what you were supposed to get. It's just too bad you are convinced that it has anything to do with any deal with God. It has to do with the fact that you are not any better at predicting sports than any other person. The more you gamble in your life, the more you will lose. You can go to church 7 days a week and that's not going to change anything. If you get passed the false notion that you were ever "blessed", maybe you can get some REAL help for your REAL gambling problem. Just think about it - Do you really think God is going around blessing people so they can win money through gambling??? The very thought of that is nothing short of ridiculous. You are addicted to gambling. Anything short of finding REAL solutions for that is a waste of your time and effort.

my tip would be to study the subjects of gambling and probability. May i suggest " winning with probability" by john huagh. " the difinitive guide to betting on sports by bruce millington. and " the mammoth book of casino games" by paul mendelsson. basically only 2% of sports bettors are profitable. only 5% of poker players are profitable (thats what i gamble at). from what i have read/learned/experienced, poker is the only thing worth risking money on, if you have dillegently studied the game and are playing people who have not. And even then you can get unlucky.
