iv been figure skating for a little while now and badly need to buy my own skates i want a pretty good pair but cant spend a ton of money on them i was looking at a pair of Lake Placid Alpine 800 Women's Traditional Figure Ice Skates and a pair of Lake Placid Milan 6000 Traditional Figure Ice Skates can anyone give me some tips?

Answer:
First of all DO NOT buy lake placid, they have absolutely no support and will do more harm than good. I suggest you head dow to your local pro-shop and get fitted for a pair of beginner skates, this will probably set you back around $150, but $100 is absolutely no good. Ask the professionals at the shop what they recommend for you personally, some good brands to consider are Jackson, Riedell, Risport and Wifa.

Sorry if this makes you upset but the skates you have looked at are pure rubbish. If you mention your exact level and if your foot is wide/ narrow I can help you withe exact models. Otherwise here is some basic info. Ifyou are aroun gamma/ basic 7/8 $56 is way too little. Thats a sure way to tell that you will break your ankle. At your level you should be looking at 140$-200$ skates. Good brands are reidell, jackson, .There are more, but I know most about those. You should be looking at jacksons for a wider foot and reidell for a skinny one. Just go to a pro-shop. and get fitted. The people there will know what skate will be best for you. We can obly give you giudelines over the internet. I have to get custom reidell skates because my foot is wide, but I can't bend my knees in jacksons or other wider skates.

Those sound to me very much like the Ebay adverts put up by those Chinese sellers. DO NOT BUY YOUR FIRST PAIR OF SKATES ONLINE AND ESPECIALLY NOT FROM EBAY! Figure skating isn't cheap. And figure skates aren't cheap. You need to go to a pro shop and get fitted properly for a quality pair of figure skates. Quality skates start from around $100+ but ideally your first pair should be $150. That may sound like a lot of money, but remember, you're investing in equipment AND in your health. If you try to cut corners with cheap skates you will be cutting corners with your skating, making the elements more difficult to learn because the skate will not have any support, and jeapordising your health because the skates will not be suited to what you're doing. Wouldn't you rather spend a little more on your skates than end up in hospital with a broken ankle?

Personally i do not have the greatest preference of ice skate buying tips. I am guessing by a little while now you mean a year at least. Also at least basic 8. If so I personally would not get those Style of skates. I have those type that are on the cheaper end and i have only been skating for 4 months (Basic 4). I would suggest if you can afford $150 skates i would suggest 133 TS Riedell Skates for $139-$155. That is for Freestyle 1 and 2. That is if you live in canada or the usa. HOPE THAT HELPED THX H
