I was kneed while playing basketball 9 days ago very hard. I did not ice or stretch the muscle immediately after nor did i ever ice the injury. I thought it would just be sore for a good 3 to 4 days but the pain has not resided. I used mineral ice and it felt better at the time then the pain was back the next morning. It still hurts, any ideas of what happened?

Answer:
lumbar pain or any other kind of back pain really should be checked by a doctor, the trouble with back pain is there can be quite a few causes from muscle cramping, general aches or full blown denerative disc disease. Its for these reasons seeing a dr is important. Additionally, if your above 40 years old perhaps degenerative disc disease is usually the trouble.
