Roughly how much bandwidth will a 3DS use?

I recently got satellite internet which has a 15GB monthly cap limit, and I wanted to use some of the online capabilities of the 3DS (mainly just having it idle on the menu or running whilst I'm playing a game or something like that.) I do not intend to play any games online due to the high latency that comes with satellite internet, so that shouldn't be a factor in the amount of bandwidth it uses. So basically, if I left my 3DS running on the Home menu for a while, how much bandwidth would it use? I have no way to monitor my internet usage (which is dumb, I know) therefore I don't want to risk using up too much bandwidth with the 3DS as there is at least one other computer connected to the internet which will mainly be used for work purposes. I've looked around online and haven't really found anything about this.

I read that gaming on a 3DS sends data every tenth of a second, but only a few lines of code which is nothing in terms of bandwidth. So leaving it on the home page in theory would be even less.
