What should i wear for an interview?

What should I wear to my interview?

  • I have a job interview (a group interview) at charlotte russe in 3 days and im stuck on what to wear. I have this gorgeous navy blue and white maxi dress and a sleeveless jean jacket that looks great together ad it also so makes me look perfect in shape and size. I'm ify about wearing it because i'm not sure if it's to much, not to mention sleeveless at an interview. But I think that it would be a bold look that will get me noticed. I'm just not sure if it would be for good or for bad. I also have these striped high-waisted jeans and a royal blue shirt that looks great together It doesn't really do anything for my curves. A brown blazer and brown uggz makes the outfit perfect but the only thing is it's not winter. I'm not really crazy about the outfit but the high-waisted jeans are in which makes it trendy. I have this shirt from charlotte russe from almost a year ago. It's in good condition. If all else fails, I thought I would wear maybe that, some nice blue jeans, and blacks sandals. It seems pretty cool and laid back but I didn't want to seem like I wasn't trying. Which would be the best look? or any other suggestions would be great too!

  • Answer:

Your outfits sound too casual and aren't really appropriate for any interview, even a group interview. Don't wear jeans at all, even the striped jeans or as a jacket. Sandals are a no too. Don't wear sandals at all. Tennis shoes are slightly better but your best bet will be flats. I would lean towards a classic look. You should remember that the people interviewing you are usually in their thirties and not under 24. Out of all of them, the 3rd one sounds the best but I don't think it'll get you hired.

I normally would say no on the maxi dress to an interview but for Charlotte Russe I say go for it. Flats or sandals usually look best with maxi's but in this case I would wear your highest heels to dress it up slightly. The dress will probably still come close to the floor like it should. If you have more than your ankles showing, wear some pantyhose. Go very easy on makeup and be sure your nails are unpolished and very short below your fingertips.
