What types of tetra fish get along with betta fish?

    Avoid Serpae (a.k.a Red Minor) Tetras and Skirt Tetras, they tend to be fin nippers. Apart from them, it depends how big your tank is. Bettas in general get along with everything that : - aren't aggressive - aren't fin nippers (Guppies, Serpae Tetras, Barbs, Zebra Danios) - doesn't have long flowing fins (Guppies again) - aren't other labyrinth fish (Gouramis) So you are not limited to Tetras only. Keep in mind that Bettas are territorial. Most doesn't tolerate that suddenly a group of fish appear in their tank. If you already have a Betta rearranging the decoration before adding new fish can help with the territorial behaviour.

Any community fish besides another Beta (if they are male, females okay to put more than 1 in tank), and other labyrinth fish such as gourami is not recommended with Beta. If your tank big enough, schooling tetra go well with beta. rainbow fish species, dwarf rainbows are really cool. Denison barbs, small species of pleco, pencil fish. I've had alsorts of fish mixed with Beta in 56 gallon tank. All the fish listed above + fish like Cory cat fish, bristle nosed pleco, apistogramma...

Definitely avoid nippy tetras like serpae tetras, congo tetras and black skirts, I think other skirt tetras may also be nippy, I here mixed reveiws. I heard beunos aires tetras and thier close relatives are kind of aggressive too. Very small tetras like ember tetras might be seen as food. Long finned tetras and veil tailed tetras should be avoided.
