How do you go about filling a civil suit?

Should I go back to the dentists for the filling he said I need?

  • Basically, my last appointment was free as I was young enough for it to be free, but I just turned 19 so the filling he said would costs £90.. anyway I looked on their website and it said it should cost £45 and my mum said that if its private (which he said it would be - if I wanted a white one) they can choose any price and so i can't help but think that they've decided to double the price as I got the last appointment free? And I'm not sure if I should of got that one free, but a receptionist said it would be then they said it wouldn't but I argued the case and said how I was told it would be free - so do you think they're annoyed with me? My main query though, is that the dentists really wasn't very good, he kept jabbing me and at one point was jabbing the back of my mouth and I kept coughing when he finally stopped.. also my hair was dangling over the chair and he was actually pulling it when he was doing the procedure. Should I go back for a filling I'm dreading it and I kind of think he only said I need it so he can charge me more. Also, at one point he said turn to the left and I turned to his left and he said no the other way and had this expression like how can you not know your left and rights - in a really rude way like I was stupid. I don't mean to sound moany - but it was a horrible experience - and I've never hated the dentists before - also this is a new dentists so I think it might just be him? Should I try another one or just get the filling and then go to another one when I need check ups?

  • Answer:

In the end it's totally up to you but I personally think that the whole dentistry profession is just out to make money and they don't really care about patients health. My friend recently had a filling and then she got tonsillitis a month later. After doing some searching on the internet I found out that dental fillings actually contain mercury, a toxic metal. It could just be a coincidence but I'm pretty sure that having mercury inside your mouth, even tiny amounts of it, can't be safe and wouldn't be surprised if this caused the tonsillitis. Also one thing that dentists never mention is "tooth re-mineralisation", have a look on google. Teeth actually have ability to repair themselves and fix cavities if you look after them properly and eat the right foods.

Try a different dentist if you don't like the bloke that did it last time, it may be cheaper too. I wouldn't say don't get it as it could cause more problems later... Hope this helped :)
