How to deactivate my yahoo answers account (not delete)?

  • Is there any way to deactivate it now so no one can search it up and then reactivate it later (I'm being considered for a job and don't need any one looking up my profile).

Go to your profile and edit preferences. •Make your Q&A ‘PRIVATE’, •Set no Avatar and remove all ‘CONTACTS’ and ‘FANS’ •DISALLOW Fans and remove anything in the ‘’ABOUT ME’ column •Remove your NICKNAME or name it ‘Blank’ (Anonymous), and •CLOSE all links to your E-mail and other websites. Now this will not help if any of the material has made other websites or has been cached by google. So about 72 hours after you do this, do a google search on your user name.

No it isn't possible and all you can do is to delete your entire Yahoo Account, which is not retrievable again. I will be finished-Finito-Hasta la Vista. You would be better to Start a whole new Yahoo account, new name etc, and keep that for your real like like many of us do, or use a different network entirely like hotmail etc. It is also impossible to know how many other places you are known where these things get posted and whilst Yahoo will stop the account everything remains stashed away for future reference. Google your own name and see where you have an Internet profile.

No. You can not deactivate it. Best if you delete anything identifiable from your profile. But how would an employer know your user name in Y!A unless you tell them. Simply not using your account will eventually see it deactivated by Yahoo. But I think that process takes 2 years. And even then, your questions and answers remain in Y!A.
