Disney International Program.

Disney international Program?

  • For people who have experienced the program, would you consider working for 6 months or 12 months and how was your overall experience?. Also, when you are already over there, are you able to drop out or leave if you don't like it or if you have a good reason to go home.

  • Answer:

I did the CRP program (Canada) and I have a great time, yes there were some people who hated it but if you go in knowing what is expected and not try to get away with stuff then you will have fun. I have meet friends from all over the world and will have them for life, I also have friends who still live and work at disney and have told me that as long as they work there I will never have to pay to get in again :P http://www.yummyjobs.com/ - this site can tell you more about the programs https://www.disneyinternationalprograms.com/ - some more info http://www.wdwip.com/smf/ - a site where people who have done the program (as well as ICP) and also people who have applied can talk. Hope this helps, I had fun, made great friends and got out of winter for the year. oh and if you do the ICP then you can do 6 months or 12 months but if you do the CRP there is only the 12 months. but it goes by fast so it doesn't really seem like it is that long.

I have worked with many ICPs over the years at Disney. I can tell you that you either love it or your hate it. Most people I know love it and are terribly upset to leave at the end of the contract. ICPs stay for 12 months. We all know that Florida does get very hot and humid in the summer. the winters are spectacular. Disney pay is low and the hours can be very long. However, its usually fun work and you often work with the same people and end up feeling like a family If your a huge disney fan like most who come to work then you will love living at Disney. You spend all your days off here exploring the parks. We are a short drive to some beaches and you will meet friends with cars. Most ICP travel the US either during or after the program The biggest trouble I have seen ICP have is getting used to our liquor laws in the US. You have to be 21 to purchase and/or consume alcohol in the US. For a good number of ICP they come from countries where they have been able to drink for years and now they are told they cant. If you are underage and do get caught drinking you will be fired on the spot and sent home the next day. You can leave anytime you want. Its not a prison sentence. You are under no obligation to stay. If you start and the week later decide you never want to see Disney again for the rest of your life then pack your bags. Tell your managers your done and quiting and head over to the airport for the trip home. I have seen this happen quite a few times.

A year is a long time. Disney really works their employees. You can end up working more that 40 hours a week. it is hot and very humid in Florida. and pay is usually low. I talked to several students who were working there, our last trip. My daughter is interested in the college program. Although most wouldn't directly say anything bad, it did seem they either loved it or hated it. not much in between. It is going to be what you make of the job. You can meet a lot people from around the world. I talked to one gal who had a crap job, cleaning up after people in a counter serve restaurant. She was GREAT. she was cheerful. and happy. She knew all the little fun stuff about her restaurant. Where Mickey icons was hidden. what the photos were of. where everything in the park was. She helped us with a few questions. She was really making the most of her job and the people she met while working
