How can I prevent myself from getting pink eye?

• Today my boyfriend was feeling ill, tired and his eye was blood shot and very sensitive to light. We took a nap together and when we woke up he could not open his eyes because they hurt so much. We went to the hospital insta-care and figured out he had pink eye which I know is very contagious. I have already washed my hands and am no longer at his house to try to avoid catching the virus but I want to make sure that I can prevent any symptoms that might occur because I was sharing a bed with him for several hours while he was infected. I do feel a bit ill, (throat hurting) but that's about it. I normally take vitamins D and C and a "woman 1 a day" multivitamin but as far as eye infection goes I want to know what I can do to prevent my eye from retaining the virus. Thank you :3

  You get pink eye from touching feces then touching your eye, the bacteria that is in the feces causes pink eye, wash your hands, & don't touch his eye as well as he shouldn't touch his eyes then touch other surfaces, hand washing is key, & he wouldn't have gotten it in the first place had he been practicing good hand hygiene
