When a seller on Ebay doesn't send the item?

Just wondering...on Ebay when you make a purchase and the seller for whatever reason dosnt ever send the item and Ebay Protection gets you your money back..what happens to the seller? do they just get to keep that money and just get banned from Ebay or....what?

Ebay freezes the seller's account until he pays the money back. The seller's rating drops a few points. If they were banned from using Ebay they would be less likely to pay the money back. As soon as the seller sells an item, the payment goes to pay back Ebay. The best way for a buyer to handle this is to open a dispute for Item not Received and let Ebay handle the problem. There could be legitimate reasons why the item did not reach you.

eBay will take the money away from the seller. Plus the seller gets a bad "mark", which affects their performance rating. If a seller earns a low performance rating, their account will be cancelled. Why don't they cancel the sellers account instantly? Maybe the seller did send you the product but it never arrived (lost in mail, delivered to wrong address, etc.). eBay often does not know and actually does not much care. If you as the buyer say you never got your order, then they will refund you the purchase.

If sellers (or buyers) do the wrong thing they end up having their accounts suspended or closed. People who don't play be the rules get hat they deserve!
