How do i get rid of a virus on my Eee PC and make it faster?

  • My laptop hasn't been working right for a while, andd I have been getting pop-ups saying I have a virus. I was wondering if there was a free way to get rid of said "virus" and also make it faster? Preferably without downloading anything?

You will have to download an anti-virus software but if you don't want to download anything go to your local magazine shop where they sell PC magazines and those magazines usually have a bonus disk attached that have anti-virus software trial versions that you could use. The only other way is to format the hard drive and then do a clean install of the OS but you will lose everything including drivers and all your files. in a format.
