How do you make .gif images of video clips?

What is the best program to show pictures and video as a slideshow?

  • I don't want to MAKE a slide show. I want to VIEW the pictures and video in a folder AS a slide show. Much like the built in function in windows, except that it does not support video. I have pictures and small video clips sorted by file name in a folder. I need a program that can show this as a slide show in this order. No fancy pan and zoom, no transitions, and when it comes to a video it should just play it full screen. when finished with the video it should show the next picture or video. I have tried windows live photo organizer, but it crops my 3:2 images to 16:9, and opens in pan / zoom mode as default. I have tried faststone image viewer, but it requires you to start video manually, and it opens the video in a separate player. As an example I DONT want a program like Powerpoint or super duper DVD edit and burner software. I want something like the built in show as slideshow in Windows. I run Win 7

Windows 7 doesn't have the capability you seek built-in. That's why Microsoft makes PowerPoint. It does exactly what you are asking for. You don't *have* to add animations or transitions to a slide show. Your requirements are minimal. Free,light-duty presentation software such as Impress can handle what you are trying to do.
