Fantistico won't install joomla?

I wanted to change my CMS from Wordpress to Joomla. I went in fantistico to install Joomla i got this message "installation can not be completed conflicting filenames remove files manually"Now I removed some files in my public_html were Wordpress files are located but Joomla still won't install. I have contacted my web host four days ago they haven't contacted me i am really frustrated. Would you recommend deleting the whole public_html file and then installing Joomla? Or maybe even changing webhosts and restarting.

sounds like changing web hosts would not be a bad idea, but purely because of the very poor support, delete everything inside the public_html folder but not the puplic_html folder itself if that still does not work your only option would be to talk to the web host. sorry

delete everything in public_html, and try re-install. If problem still persist, just change host.

my suggestion would be to install in a separate sub-domain or directory. I moved away from a hosting firm that was not responsive. Been using Joomla on Goddaddy for several years without issues.
