Is it hard to get a bachelors degree in finance?

How hard would it be to go to school and get my Bachelors degree while an Army Ranger?

  • Ive been thinking about joining the Army Rangers and it looks like its gunna happen. Well I was an almost straight A student, with AP and honors classes, all through high school and ive always wanted to be an Officer in the military. I have started my application to USMA at West Point, but if i dont get in im looking for another option. ROTC isnt really an option for me either. Im fine being an enlisted soldier but i imagine it will become hell after 4 years. Ive planned on doing 20+ in the military so i really want to be an officer. If i do the Rangers will i have any time to take advantage of any educational opportunities? Id imagine that they are pretty busy like 24/7. So should i maybe do regular airborne or infantry while i work on getting my bachelors then try for the Rangers as an officer? Any info or advice will be appreciated.

If West Point is an option, then Rotc is also an option. The only way Rotc could not be an option for a candidate competitive for an appointment to West Point is if that candidate does not understand Rotc, Rotc Scholarships or how college financing works and is making decisions based on misinformation. Explore a few Rotc Battalion websites to learn of Rotc: http://army.berkeley.edu/ http://www.duke.edu/~spb7/index.html Always helpful to read the FAQ on Battalion websites: http://army.berkeley.edu/faq.shtml http://military.isu.edu/about.shtml Rotc Scholarships: http://military.isu.edu/scholarships.shtml ECP: http://college.vfmac.edu/ECPROTC.aspx http://www.marionmilitary.edu/programs/army-ecp.da http://www.nmmi.edu/rotc/documents/ECP%20Process%20at%20NMMI.pdf The selection process is nearly identical at the Naval Academy, West Point, and the Air Force Academy, so, whatever is stated on one service academy website or in its catalog with regard to admissions, course selection etc generally holds for the others. If you read the following answer and open the links it should help to explain the selection process and the path to an appointment: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Akhc017ydUhl4cmaSh5LBsHty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20101109140847AAZvjcJ The Air Force Academy website offers outstanding advice to students prepping for a service academy, rotc scholarship or any highly selective university. Open all links to the left of the dialog box. Be sure to open the "Leadership Preparation" link and read it carefully." http://www.academyadmissions.com/#Page/Preparation Good Luck!

I know this probably isn't the answer you're looking for, but you're probably going to have to pick one or the other, school or full-time military. You could always do something like the National Guard and get your schooling done, then going on to become a Ranger. Otherwise, you are going to be a busy body for a LONG time, and going to school may not be in the question. Good Luck!
