Answer:
Math skills are essential to med students. Fortunately, many people in your situation do overcome their difficulties with math, it just takes hard work and review. You may find you have to take an extra math class or two in order to catch up to the requirement for college graduation, but this is a minor bump in the road and most universities offer free tutors for this very reason. Everyone has something that they aren't great at, but with hard work and determination you can achieve your goals. You will likely have to take calculus and statistics in college in order to get into med school later, but for entry into college as an undergrad the math you will need is usually basic algebra. Your college will give you a placement test to see which classes you will need to take. You will need math classes in college regardless and several majors do require calculus. You should talk with your high school math teacher about the areas of math that you are struggling with and then work hard on your own to review, and make sure that you ask about things when you don't quite understand. This will make a big difference in your math skills and will save you time later on. Math happens to be my downfall too, and over time I forgot quite a bit as well. Now that I am ready to apply for grad school, I know that I need to review and perfect my math skills before I take the GRE. I wish I had realized my issues with math earlier and would have taken it seriously in high school because now I have to waste months going back over things. Good Luck :)

You need to work on getting past algebra. It's pretty sad that you're in high school and still don't understand algebra. 6th graders in South Korea know more algebra than you. The somewhat difficult concepts you learn take place in undergrad. like gen. chem., organic, and biochem. In medical school, it isn't the concepts that may be troubling, rather it's the enormous amount of material you have to memorize. There's no math on the MCAT but you need Calc. 1 and Calc. 2 for most, not all, medical schools. There is Physics on MCAT which uses Algebra.

College level math is an admission requirement for many US medical schools. Some of those schools specify that it must be calculus. All US medical schools require that students take college level chemistry, biology and physics. Those courses will require knowledge of algebra and possibly calculus (for some physics courses.) You may also need to know statistics. You are likely to need good skills in algebra to do well on the MCAT. Check the websites of the colleges of interest to you to find out their math requirements for general education/core curriculum as well as majors of interest to you. Check the websites of medical schools of interest to you to see if they require math. See first link for information on medical schools that require math. There are lots of health care careers that DON'T require medical school. Consider a career as a paramedic, x-ray technician, or nurse (yes, guys can be nurses and frequently are nowadays). A couple of years in community college may be all you need. http://explorehealthcareers.org/en/home more on health care careers https://sites.google.com/site/paul7collegeinfo/home/specific-subjects-and-careers/health-and-medicine Many of these links are just tongue-in-cheek, but they still might suggest a way you could go. more on career planning https://sites.google.com/site/paul7collegeinfo/home/how-to-pick-a-career-and-major more on Australian colleges (scroll down to "Australia and New Zealand") https://sites.google.com/site/paul7collegeinfo/home/find-out-about-colleges-and-univeristies/links-for-colleges-and-universities-outside-the-united-states

Talk to your maths teacher and see if there is some way of getting past it. Otherwise, you might struggle even more in med school. There are other options in the medical field, like being a paramedic, a midwife, a nurse, or a psychologist etc.

As an undergrad at an US school doing the pre med program you would be required to take calculus and physics.
