What are some of the highest paying careers in the field of Research Science?

    The CEO of the company. Research Scientists are paid well, but they aren't raking in millions. All their breakthroughs are owned by the company that employs them. Unless you get it worked into your contract where you get a percentage of anything sold with your breakthrough, you get paid a flat fee/salary for doing your job. The CEO and heads of the company then make all the money. In health care research (you've posted in health care), the money is made by the heads of the big pharma and big device companies, unless you are able to come up with some sort of amazing device on your own and sell it to a big company.
