How to become an event planner?

I know I need a Bachelor's degree but how do I start getting experience and networks? Do I have to be in Los Angeles all the time? I live near Los Angeles.

You dont need a bachelor's degree for this. You can learn it on the job. Land yourself a job with a company that does this. Also, major resorts have an entire department dedicated to this. Learn the ropes at work.
