How can I track parcel sent with International Signed for?

• Hello! I regularly send parcels to Hungary using the International Signed for service. Normally the parcel arrives within 3-4 days. It has now been 16 days that the last parcel had been posted. I have used Royal Mail's tracking service where I received a note saying a delivery was attempted in Hungary before 19:18 on 02/05/12. No notification was left at the address and when my mum went to the post office to enquire they couldn't trace it (apparently the ref number I was given is only valid within the UK) I'm now trying to track who may have signed for it so my mum can go back to the post office. I fear it is just sitting somewhere in the back room or worse, someone took a fancy to it. Today I walked into my local post office to ask their help but they just told me that I should wait a few days and anyway, since the parcel is in Hungary (I need proof that it is) they cannot do more. I really thought that by paying extra for this service I would get a detailed trace of the parcel as they get through the hands of people. Can anyone suggest how can proceed? Thank you Kinga

• Answer:

  Try this track and trace site - its an official Royal Mail and gives more details than just the last scan. For some reason though RM don't advertise it.
