How to replace blower motor resistor on a Nissan Sentra?

How do you go about to replace a blower motor on a 2005 Nissan Sentra? Do you go from the top, bottom, where?

  • The motor is cheap enough about $35,but the shops want near $400 to do so. I suspect the brushes wore out as it came back on after you hit a bump, but will not last too much longer after that. I have tools enough but do not know where to begin dis-assembly to get at it.

  • Answer:

Phillips screwdriver is about all it takes remove the glove box and right behind is the blower case the entire fan and motor is held in with 3 screws and a wire harness clip screw next to the blower. Some models you can leave the glove box in place and work around. Getting the glove box out may provide more room. Good Luck

Other answers

Im not familiar with this specific vehicle, but most Nissan blowers are located behind the glove box. Pull down the glove box and figure out how to remove it from the car, the motor should be easily visible. But due to the high cost of your quote, you might have to pull off the whole dash. Approach with caution.
