What's the best microphone for recording rap and singing vocals? What's the best Audio Technica Mic for rap?

I know about some audio technica's I read that the audio technica 40/40 was the best so far. What's better than the 40/40 and. What's the best mic for what I'm looking to record. I'd like to spend under or near $500.

If your using a USB mic theres really no such thing as a best one, they all kinda suck to be frank, however the mic that i consider to be the lesser of the 2 evils would be a Snowball Mic...theyre known for having the best quality. They arent too bad price wise either..i would suggest getting a mixing board with a condenser mic/ phantom power plug in...this is the only way for you to get studio professional quality hope this helps p.s. if you need original industry hip hop beats for cheap let me kno
