How to open files in PowerPoint or Microsoft Word?

I cant find microsoft office word on my computer anymore, yet it still opens when i open my MO word files?

  • Basically, i think i moved the microsoft word (main link) to my desktop thinking i had made it a shortcut, and later on deleted it, not knowing it wasnt a shortcut. I have documants on my computer which i made with microsoft office word, and when i open them microsoft office word opens up just fine, i just dont have an actual icon/link to open it on my pc unless i open a document file? (yes i had the full version)

    Click on "Start" -> "All Programs" -> "Microsoft Office" -> "Microsoft Office Word". That should open the program for you. If it is not there even in that location, go to your Program Files folder and find the Microsoft Office folder. You will find the "Word.exe" file there that you can double click and open Word.

The default program folder that Word is installed too varies with the version of Word you are using. In the case of of Word 2007, the directory is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12. Go to this folder and find the file called WINWORD.exe and right click it and select "send to desktop" create shortcut. To get a new shortcut on your desktop. If you have Word 2010 then the folder is the same but it will be "Ofiice14" instead of "Offcie12" at the end.

C:\program files\microsoft\office?? - usually there is a winword.exe in there you might goto program files x86 if you are on Win7 ?? = Version Example Office14 Or just do a search and type in winword.exe

Click Start button......> then click program files....> and search here Microsoft Office. i think you will get it. or click start..> then click...> run....>type the word.. "winword". then press enter.
