How do you do a back flip?

How to do a back flip?

  • I...ve never done much gymnastics before... I took beginning tumbling classes when i was like... in elementary school. Im a junior right now and i wanna perhaps try out for our school gymnastics team senior year. I know i probably wont do much but i just wanna try out.. I wanna do something before i graduate... Im quite very flexible. Im not acrobatic flexible, but im flexible enough to hug my feet when doing a forward bend. And I can do front splits but i need a little more work on side splits to perfect it. I... just felt like learning flips and stuff... I can do the bridge? the gymnastics bridge pose from standing up. But after i do the bridge pose.. i cant kick myself up to flip over?.. I tried kicking my legs up but i cant bring up my other leg. I feel like im just gonna fall flat on my back. What are some tips on doing a black flip? Not a back flip while running. Just like... on the spot. I feel like i would be able to do the running back flip if i can do the on the spot back flip? lol

  • Answer:

Build up the muscles in your legs first because being able to jump high gives you more time to make it through the whole flip. Are you sure you're not talking about a forward flip. Gymnastics is not something you can just start doing because you think it would be fun. It takes a lot of strength and stamina. If you can't do over 20 pull UPS then don't even try because you are not ready. It'd be better to take classes than to try to join a team because a school team has no obligation to train you.
