What semi dyes are good for my hair?

  • I want to semi dye my hair for the summer. My hair is black ._. Is not a super dark but rather a charcoal black. I also have NATURAL sandy red highlights. Looks pretty cool, anyway I was wondering what is the best for my hair. I am NOT bleaching it what so ever. I LOVE my color but I want to embrace a wild side in me :) once I hit my head on a toy truck as a kid and I had a hole, not huge just tiny, tonka trucks were HARD :/ lol! My mom put peroxide on it and my hair turned blonde. Now I have a blonde streak somewhere in my thick jungle of hair. It's probably not in there anymore because I had because I had horrible split ends. My hairdresser cut it odee short I I am DYING for it to grow back down my back :'( Question is which semi dye is ok for dark hair and WON'T make my hair come out. Im one of the six black kids at my school that has LONG hair. The rest are bald headed and I don't want to end up like them. I heard. Special effects: makes you hair healthier but needs bleaching Manic panic: STILL needs bleaching but turns your hair swampy/murky green Raw: you don't need to bleach it bu I makes it a subtle tint and it stays in SUPER long (5/6 months) I don't know how to dye hair but my cousin does so she could help. When it comes to instructions I need to read at a third grade level xD I can read at an eighth grade level though (seventh grader) so could you help me with some good SEMI dyes. DON'T tell me to go to a professional because it's not Supposed to be permanent. My crappy school doesn't allow hair other than red, black, etc you know natural colors you could be born with.     HENNA. WWW.LUSHUSA.COM they sell henna hair dyes its all natural and does not damage your hair but is quite messy and hard to apply at first but it works wonders. you can aldo try kool aid. it last for about a week and is cheap. add a little water to kool aid powder and leave in your hair with shower cap overnight or for about 3 hours. washes out with clarifying shampoo or after a few washes

Personally, I have used Jerome Russel's punky colour and it's lasted me a good 3-5 months when I dyed my hair turquoise. :D

Manic Panic has the biggest selection and lasts the longest in my opinion. It won't really have an effect of your dark hair, but it will color the lighter spots. Just leave it in for over an hour and wash it with the coldest water you can stand :)
