What good books are there for a thirteen year old girl to read?

What Books Should I Read As A Teenager?

  • So I'm a 14 year old teenage girl. Two of my favorite books were Thirteen Reasons Why : Jay Asher, and Freefall : Mindi Scott. I'd like to read books that are similar, maybe not in plot, but just similar types of stories. I get bored very easily when reading, so I don't read very often. But those two books really kept me interested, and I'm looking for other books I may like. Please don't recommend Twilight, Harry Potter, or The Hunger Games (which I've read and enjoyed, but I don't want that type of book right now).

  • Answer:

I'm just going to list all the books I read at 14 and let you choose. Deep Down Popular - Phoebe Stone, Wintergirls - Laurie Halse Anderson, Peaches - Joddi Lynn Anderson, Begging for Change - Sharon Flake, Olives Ocean - Keven Henkes, Cut - Patricia Mccormick, Runaway - Wendelin Van Draanen, How I live now - Meg Rosoff, Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul, Black-eyed Susie - Susan Shaw, Bounce & Lush & Perfect all three by Natasha Friend, Where I'd Like To Be - Frances O'Roark Dowell, Fire Girl - Tonny Abbott, The Year of the Dog - Grace Lin, So B. It - Sarah Weeks, Homecoming - Cynthia Voigt Mind you there are way more than just these but I thought they would be more in the area you wanted. :)

Perks of Being A Wallflower, pretty much anything by Sarah Dessen, Gemma Doyle trilogy (if you like fantasy), there was a book I read where the cover had a green popsicle on a black background. It was about a girl dealing with an anorexic sister. My Sister's Keeper is another one.
