What is it like as a Paralegal?
-
I am considering training to become a paralegal. The field interests me because it seems to emphasize writing and research skills. Those of you with paralegal experience - is this an accurate assessment? How do you REALLY spend your day?

Answer:
Paralegals' job descriptions vary considerably, based on whether they work in a small law office, in a large government run agency (e.g. EPA), at a collection agency or a labor union, in the entertainment business, etc. To get a generic picture of paralegal educational requirements, job duties and outlook, etc, go to http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos114.htm (a web page put up by the US Department of Labor). To get an idea of the wages paid to paralegals in various parts of the country, go to another of their web pages at http://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes232011.htm Hope this helps.
