Why wont windows messenger connect?

Why won't my Windows Live Messenger connect?

• One day it just randomly disconnected from the internet. Since then, every time I try to connect it, it fails. When I troubleshoot it, it gets stuck at "Key Ports..." If I try to connect on meebo, with the same account, it works. I have called Microsoft. They told me to ask on the microsoft.answers website. I did. Got no response. Called them back to complain about their terrible tech support, and they told me to go on another website. So now I really don't have any idea what to do. Help? :/

  May be getting blocked by your firewall, turn it off and try to sign in, if it works then all you gotta do is figure out how to configure it to allow it again.
