Why should I support a Soccer team? What do you get out of it?

  • I have never really been that Interested to sit down and watch a match for 90-95 minutes like the rest of you who can but I have been interested enough to play the sport for fun and enjoy it, quite a lot. I never really Supported any Soccer team but recently when I got in Second level Education I started to get more interested in it. What I want to know is what do you get out of supporting a team? I can never get my head around it What do people get from support your team? Can someone explain and help me find my team to in this to support?

    People start supporting clubs for different reasons. But supporting a club's like being part of a huge family. There's a camaraderie that you don't get anywhere else. You go to a game and you just feel like you're a part of some huge entity. You have a bond with fellow supporters and with the players on the pitch. The longer you support a club the stronger the bond gets. I've been supporting Swansea for 12 years and everything in my life by now revolves around the club. It's involved huge disappointments, that have felt at times like a death in the family. It's also involved great successes that have given me the greatest joys I've ever felt. It makes you laugh, scream and cry! Basically it works your emotions like nothing else! It's a bond that can't really be explained!

Supporting a soccer team can reduce the cost of the end of the season party. AS a soccer player i know that those things can get expensive. If you truly want to get out of it, then just simply say you don't have the money.
