What are some incentives that Agricultural Scientists have?

Why are scientists today dumber than scientists in the past?

  • In the past, scientists were making revolutionary breakthroughs all the time in a variety of fields. Life-changing new drugs were brought to market every few months. Scientists and engineers collaborated to send people into space. Computer technology advanced furiously - a computer built at the beginning of the year in any year between 1947 and the late 90's or so was outdated by the end of the year. Since then, scientists appear to have gotten dumber. Advances are much slower. Pharma companies can't even come up with much new stuff; all they can do is try and reformulate stuff they invented years ago and repackage it. I turned on a laptop yesterday from 2004, and it functioned just fine - that was eight years ago. Imagine trying to use a laptop from 1992 in the year 2000. Why are today's scientists dumber and less productive than scientists of the past?

  • Answer:

It costs so much more to do things now. Scientific development is expensive. And the government gets in the way.
