Youtube Account Creation Help! Im at my wits end.?

So Ive had a YouTube channel for a few years now and its connected to my main email which is a Hotmail account. I recently wanted to start a second channel that I was going to use to reach a specific group of people. In account creation they force you to create a google account (even if you already have one) which is really REALLY stupid. So I make a new google email through youtube. This accounts interface looks completely different from my simple hotmail account. They were trying to shove google plus down my throat. When I tried to change my channels headline from my real name it would not let me. I closed the google plus portion and then I could not modify the channel at all it just kept on bringing me to a create a google plus page. Im at my wits end with this damn thing. I just want a youtube account that I can uplload halo videos for fans of the halo franchise. Why do I have to create a google plus account to upload videos. is there a way around this. I already deleted my new account and the gmail that went with it. My Question, is there a way I can have a new channel without all this stupid google crap? Can I have one that functions exactly like my account ive had for 3 years?
