how to keep icons in listview in android?

How to go back to original settings on android phone?

  • bear with me, this is my first android phone so i'm pretty much still stupid when it comes to working it. i got an lg optimus from sprint back in mid march, and i set everything up just how i wanted it, apps and all, and felt as though i had finally conquered the android phone. loved it. then, it did a system update, and next thing i know, a bunch of features changed. it wasn't anything major, but it was the style and color of some settings and icons. like, the top bar, and the keyboard, both used to be white, and now they're just a void black, and i absolutely hate it. then, it does this thing where, if it dies in the middle of the night (i charge it with a cord that connects to my computer, and when my computer goes into sleep mode after too long, it stops charging, making my phone die), sometimes it'll just keep restarting itself, then i have to do a system reboot, which doesn't work, so then i have to factory reset it and THEN do a system reboot. i've only had to do that twice, but this time, i did it and went to add the "settings" icon to my main screen, and instead of just a settings icon, it asked me to select which settings icon i wanted specifically - keyboard settings, display settings, language settings, etc etc. it's never done this before. i'm not sure if that's just another update, or if i'm just stupid and missing something. i'd appreciate a few pointers! (:

As far as the appearance changes, sounds like the update was the cause of that. If that's the case, you're stuck with the changes unless you do some serious software tweaking (rooting, then reverting back to the previous software version). This is not recommended unless you are prepared for possibly ruining the phone. As for the phone dying in the middle of the night: if it is fully charged when you go to bed and dies by morning, I'd say you have a faulty battery or maybe an app is constantly running and draining the battery. If it is not charged enough when you plug it into the computer at night, then I'd say just use a regular wall charger and not rely on the computer's power. As for the rebooting problems: that is not normal and I'd check with your cell provider about possible warranty issue.
