Finding a good key generator?

Consequences of running a generator w/o a muffler if its placed in the open with proper vent & wind flow?

  • Guys my generator muffler went bad & broke & i am having a hard time finding it.. what i want to ask is can i run it w/o a muffler what will be the consequences... the genset is placed outside the house with proper ventilation & good wind flowing thru it at all times so heat may not be so much of an issue neither is noise an issue to me i just want it to run properly... can it not be run w/o a muffler then w/o having any prob later

You can buy small mufflers like for lawn mowers or motorcycles, then connect them with flexible tubing from car parts stores. They also sell U shaped clamps. I don't think running without a muffler will cause any harm, mechanically. The only way it could harm the valves is if the exhaust removed heat which would build up internally. That is doubtful.

if you like the noise your good . at most some times sucking cold air back will warp vales or if rain water gets in will runin motor too small motors run better with a little back presser . get one close an weld a pipe fitting to it so will fit .it not a fararie
