Is it normal that my stomach is swollen?

Stomach looks almost swollen, had unprotected in Jan, normal periods since?

  • Okay so I had unprotected in January and have had my normal ish 4-7 day periods, light-heavy always varies. It was thought that I had a hernia above my pubic bone but a pap/pelvic exam without an ultra sound- doctor said it felt fine. Still waiting on the pap results. just above and to the side of the pubic bone, feels almost like a bulge or a ridge under the skin and is tender whilst other side you can feel it but left side feels more agrivated. Any idea what else this could be? Makes me almost think I'm pregnant cause it looks swollen but I've had normal periods and NOT spotting so I don't think I could be?

    Impossible you are pregnant if you are having normal periods. Do not worry about being pregnant, thats the least of your worries. Get that lump checked out by another doctor, sounds serious...

Have you considered an issue with your lower digestive tract? I say this because I have severe IBS that is aggravated by my period pains (they seem to trigger each other) and I have had a bump the size of a hens egg just above my pubic bone underneath the surface on the left side for months now which my GP diagnosed as a intestinal muscle spasm. To me t felt like I had a huge growth! It is established fact that the left side of the digestive tract has a weak spot there (called the splenic juncture) which is a common spot for developing IBS. If you've been stressed, if your stomach is either runny or constipated, if you have pain that passes when you visit the loo and general bloating and tenderness in that area, you may have a winner. :) C.
