It started out with this cystic acne?

I started exercising and now I'm getting bad acne.?

  • About 3 weeks ago I started P90X on top of a healthier diet. I cut out sodas completely and I rarely have juice or sugars. Well since then I've noticed I've been getting more than usual acne on my face, neck chest and back. I don't understand it. I know that by drinking more water, eating healthier and exercising regularly it releases toxins in your body...is the acne it, and I just need to get past this stage or what? Please help and advice for what I can do to help maintain this. Thank you!

  • Answer:

Your body is experiencing some stress because of this sudden transition to a healthy life style. Wash your face 3 times a day, using acne meds each time. Benzyl Peroxide in particular should help. You'll adjust after some time and the acne will go away. I predict another 3 weeks and you'll be fine.

The food you eat doesn't have as much of an effect on acne so much as your cleanliness. Acne is caused by your pores clogging up, probably with the sweat and dirt from your latest fitness endeavors. Just shower more and clean your face!

Could it be from the sweat? Maybe the sweaty shirt rubbing against your skin is irritating it and you wiping sweat off your face is causing acne, you're not supposed to touch your face with your fingertips because of the grease they produce. Just throwing it out there, not 100% sure.
