How to improve my connection on xbox live?

I have an xbox live wired to my PC which has wireless and i can connect to xbox live and games, but the connection is quite often laggy and i always get kicked from the parties im in because my connection isnt that good. Does anyone know anyway i could improve this lagg? 10 points for best solution

It all depends on your internet quality. I may sound stupid but to improve your internet.. get highspeed internet... there advertised on tv... or 2 aluminum foil.. noo joke. Wrap it arnd your modem and router if u hv 1 .. yes it looks lame but it works. If u live in a brick/metal or thick walled house.. ur screwed. I hope i helped.
